Description:
Proximate cysts, with outline in form of long-necked vase. Single-layered wall with smooth or punctate surface that frequently has secondary folds. Apical horn stout and short, only slightly narrower than cysts in some specimens; centre hollow; ends truncated or pointed. Apical horns 20 - 26 µm long and 10 - 12 µm wide. Intercalary archeopyle.
Size: Cysts 50 - 60 µm long and 26 - 34 µm wide.
Comparison: This new species is distinguished form Pareodinia elongata by its stout, short apical horns and its small individuals.
