Evansia tripartita ssp. tripartita. Nomenclatural sr. synonym of Pareodinia tripartita var. obtusa Johnson and Hills, 1973, which has the same holotype.

Cyst circular to ellipsoidal in outline, tapering to a short apical horn, pointed at its tip; tabulation usually apparent only at the archaeopyle, which forms by loss of 3 intercalary plates of approximately equal size; anterior and posterior parts of the principle archaeopyle suture serrate; cingulum broad, usually indistinct; cyst wall smooth, relatively thick and resistant to folding; Kalyptra may be present.
Dimensions: (20 specimens) Overall - length 55-64 µm, width 39-46 µm, apical horn 10-14 µm.
