Palaeosphaerium *infrequens Górka, 1965, p.308, pl.2, figs.7a–b. Holotype: Górka, 1965, pl.2, figs.7a–b. Sarjeant (1978a, p.38) indicated that this species name should be restricted to the holotype. Age: early Kimmeridgian.

Holotypus: Prep. Y4.
Stratum typicum: Astartien.
Locus typicus: Magnuszew, depth 1331.2 m.
Derivatio nominis: Lat. infrequens - uncommon.
Material. - One specimen, well-preserved.

Theca diameter without spines 47.00
Spine length 1.74-3.48

Description. Spherical-polyhedral theca, with imprecise tabulation and transverse groove. There is no longitudinal groove, nor apical horn. Very short spines on the sutures, between the plates. Very finely reticulated surface. Remarks. - Palaeosphaerium infrequens n.gen., n.sp. does not recall any of the representatives of the Dinoflagellae described so far. Distribution. - Astartian of Magnuszew (depth 1331.2 m).
