Palaeocystodinium scabratum
Palaeocystodinium scabratum Jain, Sah and Singh, 1975
Holotype: Jain, Sah and Singh, 1975, pl.6, fig.63
Locus typicus: Assam, India
Stratum typicum: Lower Paleocene (Danian)
Original diagnosis: Jain, Sah and Singh, 1975, p.12
Shell spindle shaped, dorsoventrally flattened. Appendages two, one on each end. Single apical and antapical horns taper at ends. Periphragm scabrate; inner body ellipsoidal, in contact with periphragm, smooth, granular along the pericoel area. Archaeopyle intercalary, trapezoidal, below apical horn.
Dimensions: Holotype: shell length 144 µm, shell width 58.5 µm, apical horn length 40 µm, antapical horn length 26 µm, capsule size 78 x 58.5 µm. Range: shell length 120-155 µm, shell width 58.6-70 µm, apical horn length 25-40 µm, antapical horn length 20-30 µm, capsule size 75-100x60-70 µm.
