Ovoidinium scabrosum, (Cookson and Hughes, 1964), Davey, 1970
Helenes, 1983, retained this species in Ascodinium Cookson and Eisenack, 1960. Lentin and Williams, 1989, retained it in Ovoidinium.

Original diagnosis: [Cookson and Hughes, p. 41]: Ascodinium scabrosum
Shell longer than broad with convex sides which curve inwards towards a bluntly pointed apex and slant slightly towards a somewhat truncate antapex. A circular girdle is faintly indicated in the equatorial region. The shell-membrane is very thin, not more than c. 0.5 Ám and densely covered with minute granules. The capsule wall, which is also 0.5 Ám thick, is unpatterned and closely opposed to the shell-membrane laterally. Opening is effected by the complete removal of the apical region of the shell and capsule.
Helenes, 1983, retained this species in Ascodinium Cookson and Eisenack, 1960. Lentin and Williams, 1989, retained it in Ovoidinium.
