Gonyaulacysta strigosa

Gonyaulacysta strigosa Yu Jingxian, 1982

Now Cribroperidinium?. Originally Gonyaulacysta, subsequently (and now) Cribroperidinium?.
Holotype: Yu Jingxian, 1982, pl.2, fig.2
Age: Late Jurassic-Early Cretaceous

Description: Cysts broadly elliptical or tripodal. Outer wall thin, single-layered, with reticulate ornamentation. Apical horn stout and short. End has an apical pore connecting with outer furrow. Parasuture is a fine sutural ridge which splits along top into finely dentate appearance. Paratabulation is 4", 0-a, 6"", 6c, 6 "", 1p, 1 """. Precingular archeopyle. Archeopyle large, quadrilateral, formed by loss of 3". Paracingulum 6.5 - 7 Ám wide, helical; edges limited by fine, uneven ridges which project beyond the cyst on both sides of the girdle region. Paracingulum divides cyst into two parts: a triangular epicyst and trapezoidal hypocyst. Parasulcus extends to epicyst.
Size: Cysts 94 - 103.5 Ám long and 73 - 92 Ám wide.

Comparison: This new species resembles G. fimbriata Duxbury in its contour and low parasutures but is distinguished from it by its large precingular archeopyle, thin wall, finely granulate cyst surface and lack of thick dentate formation at the distal end of sutures.
