Now Rhynchodiniopsis?. Originally Gonyaulax, subsequently Hystrichogonyaulax, thirdly Hystrichogonyaulax?, fourthly Rhynchodiniopsis, fifthly (and now) Rhynchodiniopsis?; see also Gonyaulacysta? (combination not validly published).
Stover and Evitt, 1978, considered this to be a provisionally accepted species of Hystrichogonyaulax.
