Heteraulacacysta polyedrica

Heteraulacacysta polyedrica (Pouchet, 1883) Eisenack and Kjellström, 1971

Now Goniodoma. Originally Peridinium, subsequently (and now) Goniodoma, thirdly Heteraulacacysta.
This transfer was effected to accommodate the fossil forms which Morgenroth, 1966, assigned to the species Goniodoma polyedrica (Pouchet, 1883) Jorgensen, 1900.
Lentin and Williams, 1973, retained Goniodoma polyedrica for modern forms only and proposed the species name Heteraulacacysta fehmarnensis for fossil cysts which resemble Goniodoma polyedrica. This included the specimens described and illustrated by Morgenroth, 1966, p.7, pl.2, figs.7-9).

Holotype: Pouchet, 1883, fig.34
