From Fensome et al., 2019:
Operculodinium centrocarpum ssp. teokides (Srivastava and Banerjee, 1969, p.103, pl.1, figs.6–8) Lentin and Williams, 1981, p.204. Holotype: Srivastava and Banerjee, 1969, pl.1, figs.6–7. Original description: [Srivastava and Banerjee, 1969]:

Hystrichosphaeridium centrocarpum var. teokides var. nov.
Plate I, Figs. 6-8.

Diagnosis: Body ellipsoidal, light brown. Body wall distinct, ca 1p thick, smooth. A distinct opening or 'pylome' is seen at one end of the body. Processes closely and irregularly studded all over the body, slender, solid, stiff and long, arising with slightly broader base, gradually narrowing toward the tips. Tips mostly having fine bifurcations.

Measurements:
Body size 82.5 x 60μ. Processes: 11.5-16μ long; ca 2.5μ wide at the base.

Comparison: In essential features, it agrees with H. centrocarpum Defandre and Cookson, 1955. However, in body shape, nature of the 'cavity' with its opening and tips of the processes, the Indian specimens differ from H. centrocarpum (= H. sp. a; see Cookson 1953).
Holotype : Sl. no. C3/300-307 cms (ii) ; 39.8: 95-7.
Type locality: Assam, N. E. India, TDW 5, 3698-3701.07 m.
