Oligosphaeridium buciniferum Corradini, 1973

Holotype: Corradini, 1973, pl.21, fig.2a-b, text-fig.5
Locus typicus: Viano, Reggio Emilia, Italy
Stratum typicum: Senonian

Original diagnosis: Corradini, 1973, p. 142
Central body subspherical to ovoidal with both endophragm and periphragm smooth. Well developed buccinate processes with entire, undulate distal margin. Apical archeopyle tetratabular.
Dimensions--Holotype: diameter of the central body 30x40 µm, length of the processes 25-38 µm. Range: diameter of the central body 27-(30x37)-42 µm, length of the processes 20(30)38 µm.

Original description: Corradini, 1973, p. 142
Chorate cyst having a thin two-layered wall. The processes are hollow, buccinate and expand considerably distally terminating with an entire margin or, sometimes, with extremely fine spines. The length of the processes not exceed the diameter of the central body; the width does not vary a great deal. Sulcal processes are absent. Reflected tabulation 4", 6", 6""", 1p, 1"""". Apical archeopyle tetratabular, with zig-zig margin.

Affinities:
Carradini, 1973, p. 143: O. buciniferum differs from all the previously described species for the typical shape of the terminal part of the processcs.
