Microdinium kustanaicum Vozzhennikova, 1967

Originally (and now) Microdinium, subsequently Microdinium?.
Stover and Evitt, 1978, considered this to be a provisionally accepted species of Microdinium. Lentin and Vozzhennikova, 1990, retained it in Microdinium without question.
Below, 1987, considered this species to be a nomen dubium.

Original description: Vozzhennikova, 1967, p.96
Theca spherical, divided by a broad transverse furrow into two unequal parts. Epitheca smaller than hypotheca. Plates and the margin of transverse furrow bordered by a series of tall, transversely striated crests. Thecal surface covered with numerous short tubercles or with short, slender, obtuse-ended outgrowths.
Size: Holotype, length 32 Ám, width 29 Ám. Range, length 32-35 Ám, width 28-30 Ám.
