Lejeunecysta laevigata
Lejeunecysta laevigata (Malloy, 1972) Wilson and Clowes, 1980
Now Senegalinium. Originally Deflandrea, subsequently Andalusiella, thirdly Lejeunecysta, fourthly (and now) Senegalinium. See also Lejeunia tcombination illegitimate).
Taxonomic junior synonym: Senegalinium psilatum, according to Herngreen (1975, p.61).
Holotype: Malloy, 1972, pl.1, fig.5
Locus typicus: Gabon GLA lX well, Gabon Republic, W Africa
Stratum typicum: Senonian
Original diagnosis: Malloy, 1972, p.64: Deflandrea laevigata
Outer cyst globose to sub-pentagonal in outline with a thin periphragm and a thick-walled inner cyst. The latter nearly fills the outer cyst and can be almost indistinguishable from it, except at the apices. Both apical and antapical horns are normally extremely low cones, and in globose specimens may be minute to nearly absent.
Thickenings in the inner cyst wall are usually present at the bases of the horns. The surface of the periphragm is smooth, as is that of the endophragm, and both commonly display folding.
The archeopyle is hexagonal, intercalary, and relatively large. No clear indications of either a girdle or tabulation are present, although transverse median folds are nearly always present in both the periphragm and endophragm.
Dimensions: Length, normal to equatorial plane, overall 82 Ám to 62 Ám, equatorial width 74 um to 52 Ám.
