Originally Baltisphaeridium machaerophorum var. strangulatum (Appendix A), subsequently Lingulodinium machaerophorum subsp. strangulatum, thirdly (and now) Lingulodinium strangulatum. Age: Pleistocene.

A fairly distinct constriction marks the base of the processes, which give the shape of a non-flattened spearhead.
