Areoligera medusettiformis, (O. Wetzel, 1933), Lejeune-Carpentier, 1938

Tax. jr. synonym of Areoligera coronata (O. Wetzel, 1933) Lejeune-Carpentier, 1938, according to Morgenroth, 1968 - however, Eaton (1976, p.245) retained Areoligera medusettiformis.

Areoligera medusettiformis O. Wetzel, 1933b ex Lejeune-Carpentier, 1938a. According to Lejeune-Carpentier (1938), the process expansions of this species are reduced when compared to A.coronata. The processes tend to be united proximally by a membrane and can be distally united to form arches. The membranous processes can also be perforate distally. Size: from Lejeune-Carpentier, 120 µm overall.
