Kiokansium perprolatum
From Fensome et al., 2019:
Kiokansium perprolatum Singh, 1983, p.150–151, pl.54, figs.7–8. Holotype: Singh, 1983, pl.54, fig.7. Age: middle Cenomanian.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Original description: Singh, 1983, p. 150
Skolochorate cysts; central body perprolate, ellipsoidal, and about twice as long as wide; autophragm thin, smooth, and single layered; central body bearing 60 or more, uniformly distributed, nontabular, and slender processes; stems of the processes 0.5 to 1 µm wide and flexible; tips of the processes closed, flared, and forming small, umbrella-like, membranous structures fringed with up to 5 µm long, straight or recurved spinules; length of the processes from 1/5 to 1/3 of the length of the central body; archeopyle precingular, type 2P; operculum free, often remaining in place.
Size range: Overall length including the processes 90(101)120 µm. Holotype 108 µm. Overall breadth including the processes 54(66)76 µm. Holotype 61 µm. Length of the central body 68(77)89 µm. Holotype 89 µm. Breadth of the central body 36(40)44 µm. Holotype 40 µm. Length of the processes 18(20)24 µm. Holotype 18 to 22 µm. Specimens measured 6.
Affinities:
Singh, 1983, p. 151: Kiokansium perprolatum differs from Kiokansium williamsii in being distinctly larger and having a more elongate central body which is usually twice as long as wide.
