Samlandia chlamydophora Eisenack, 1954b. Aaccording to Eisenack (1954b, p.76), Internal shell is ellipsoidal, very thick-walled, smooth on its inner side; external covering is very delicate, transparent, connective support members are numerous, as a whole forming a complicated pattern of short, worm-like lines lying at such a distance from one another so that they can be discerned individually. Pylome is apical. Size: internal shell 67 by 63 µm, external covering 86 by 76 µm, archeopyle about 33 µm, wall thickness about 5-6 µm.

Original description: Eisenack, 1954, p. 76
Diagnosis: Inner shell ellipsoidal, very thick walled, smooth on the inside; outer shell very delicate, transparent as glass, numerous interconnecting supports, which, on the inner shell, form a complex pattern of short, vermiculate lines, which are placed apart in such a way, that they can be distinguished individually. Pylome apical.
Dimensions: holotype: ellipsoid: 67x63 µm, outer shell 86x76 µm, pylome appr. 33 µm (appr. 50% of the cross-section of the central shell); second specimen: 62x57 µm and 76x71 µm; thickness of inner shell 5-6 µm.
Affinities:
Eisenack, 1954, p. 76 (annotated)
Palaeostomocystis Deflandre, 1935 (1937), especially P. reticulata Deflandre, 1937 has a broad similarity to S. chlamydophora, but the Palaeostomocystis species do not posses an outer shell.
S. chlamydophora differs from those species of the genus Pterocystidiopsis Deflandre, 1935 (1937) which posses a delicate outer shell, in the closer spacing of the outer and inner shell, in the numerous interconnections of both shells, and in the different connection or pylome at the pole of the inner shell, like it is prsent in Pterocystidiopsis stephaniana Deflandre, 1935 (1937).
