Originally Kisselovia ornata forma reticulata, subsequently Kisselovia ornata ssp. reticulata.
Tax. jr. synonym of Kisselovia ornata, according to Lentin and Vozzhennikova, 1989.
Lentin and Vozzhennikova, 1989, designated the holotype of this subspecies as lectotype of Kisselovia ornata Vozzhennikova, 1967.

Locus typicus: W. Siberia, Tara
Stratum typicum: Eocene

Original diagnosis: Vozzhennikova, 1967, p.104: Same as for the species with the following additions:
Thecal surface covered with coarse, scanty reticulation. No spines developed in the angles of the cells.
Dimensions: Holotype- Iength of theca 108 Ám, breadth 94.5 Ám, width of transverse furrow 7 Ám. In other specimens: length of theca 99.9 - 122 Ám, breadth 94.5 - 108 Ám, width of traverse furrow 5.4 - 8.1 Ám.
