Original description: Chen, 1982, p. 38
Shape: Cyst nearly spherical to ovoidal, dorsal-ventrally compressed with single, mostly pronounced, apical horn and single, often much reduced, antapical horn.
Wall relationships: Autophragm only, with thick appearance.
Wall features: Parasutural features absent; autophragm granular.
Paratabulation: Indicated by archeopyle only, presumably gonyaulacacean.
Archeopyle: Precingular Type P (3" only); operculum free.
Paracingulum: Not indicated.
Parasulcus: Not indicated.
Dimensions: Holotype 155 µm long, 114 µm wide; others (21 specimens measured) 100 (120-130) 155 µm long; 75 (100-120) 120 µm wide.

Affinities:
Chen, 1982, p. 39: K. stoveri differs from K. glabra and K. evittii in having an autophragm of thick appearance and a reduced antapical horn. Apteodinium generally shows a paracingulum and has an apical horn only.
