Original description as Deflandrea pentaradiata ssp. preceda: [Cookson and Eisenack, 1974, p. 49]: (Translation: LPP)

Diagnosis:
A subspecies of Deflandrea pentaradiata with following characteristics: periphragm thin, smooth and seldom weakly punctate. Apical horn with small button-like protuberance, lateral horns weakly developed and rounded. Girdle bordered by weak folds. Distance between antapical horns larger than on Deflandrea pentaradiata and horns less pointed. Endophragm thicker and strongly granulate.
