Original description Yu Jingxian and Zhang Wangping, 1980 [translation Suning Hou 2025]:

Muderongia lata sp. nov
Holotype: Slide number W3-3A, Plate III, Figure 12.
Description: The cyst measures 65.5-75.9 µm in length, with the holotype measuring 75.9 µm, and 66-73.6 µm in width, with the holotype width being 73.6 µm. The antapical horn measures 20-32.2 µm in length. The central body is oval to nearly round in shape, and the outer membrane envelops the body, extending into four horns. The apical horn is absent, and two lateral horns are located at the cyst's equatorial region, approximately 1/5 to 1/6 of the body length. The antapical horn is long, broad, but does not taper. The cyst wall is smooth, with an apical archeopyle, and the suture line is irregular.
Comparison: The new species is distinguished by longer and broader antapical protrusions, untapering lateral horns, and the thin outer membrane, which sets it apart from other species in the genus.
Stratigraphy: Uytak-Kukbay Formation. 乌依塔克一库克拜
