Cleistsphaeridium bergmannii, Archangelsky, 1969
NOW Lingulodinium. Originally Cleistosphaeridium, subsequently Operculodinium, thirdly Downiesphaeridium, fourthly (and now) Lingulodinium.
Taxonomic junior synonyms: Solisphaeridium filamentosum (Appendix A) and Impletosphaeridium charrieri, both according to Quattrocchio and Sarjeant (2003, p.142).

Locus typicus: Form. Rio Turbio, Province of Santa Cruz, Argentina

Descriotion:
Subsphaerical to oval cyst, with thick, granulate membrane (3 µm) and circular archaeopyle.
Processes robust, solid, numerous (>50), proximally widened, straight or curved, pointed or occasionally with thickened ends.
Dimensions:
Length of body 40 µm (inclusive archeopyle); breadth 42 µm, archaeopyle 24 µm, processes 8 µm.
Range - length of body 27-58 µm, archaeopyle 18-25 µm, processes 6-10 µm.
NOW Lingulodinium. Originally Cleistosphaeridium, subsequently Operculodinium, thirdly Downiesphaeridium, fourthly (and now) Lingulodinium.
