Locus typicus: Western Siberia (Tomsk region), Russia
Stratum typicum: Eocene
Translation Vozzhennikova, 1967: Lentin and Vozzhennikova, 1990

Original description: Vozzhennikova, 1967, p.146-147: Deflandrea oebisfeldensis forma angustata
Theca oval pentagonal with slightly projecting lateral angles, sometimes barely discernible. Epitheca triangular with convex, almost uniformly thickened lateral walls which taper sharply into a conical apical horn, or begin by tapering gradually and then narrow rapidly to give a fingerlike apical process. Hypotheca trapeziform with slightly concave lateral walls, an uneven posterior margin and two short acutely pointed antapical horns which project in opposite directions. Transverse furrow shallow, annulate. The narrow longitudinal furrow runs across the ventral side of the hypotheca from the ends of the transverse furrow to the antapex. Internal body oval, its surface coarsely granular. Surface of the theca granular with widely separated short spines. Pylome trapeziform.

Expanded description: Lentin and Vozzhennikova, 1990, p.53
Cyst shape peridinioid with an apical horn which tapers sharply to create a long, finger like projection and a roundly convex paracingular region; antapex with two, more or less equal, reduced, acuminate, widely divergent antapical horns, with the left antapical horn rarely more developed; endocyst oval in outline, dividing the cyst equally; circumcavate. Periphragm coarsely granulose with occasional short spines; endophragm coarsely granulose. Paratabulation indicated by archeopyle and paracingulum; peridinioid. The periarcheopyle is broad hexa (lati-deltaform), operculum free; the endoarcheopyle is also broad hexa or undeveloped. The paracingulum is indicated by distinct parallel ridges on the periphragm and at the lateral margins. Parasulcus indicated by a distinct depression on the hypocyst.
Size: Holotype, length 162 Ám, width 108 Ám, width of paracingulum about 8 Ám; endocyst, length 73 Ám, width 74 Ám; Range length 154-162 Ám, width 95-108 Ám, width of paracingulum 8-10 Ám; endocyst, 72-73 Ám, width 74-81 Ám.
