Deflandrea phosphoritica subsp. vozzhennikovae, subsp. nov.
Table, fig. 3

Holotype. Prep. 548 in the collection of the DGO IMR; Black Sea Depression. Kherson region, borehole 1, Svobodny Port settlement, Lower Miocene, Chernobaiv elephants.

Description. The theca is slightly elongated along the longitudinal axis with convex lateral sides. The epitheca has obtusely angled "shoulders" with a small apical horn. The hypotheca is trapezoidal with a concave antapical end, forming two small, rounded horns. The transverse groove is annular, dividing the cell into two equal halves. On the lateral sides, it forms serrations. The internal body is spherical, somewhat compressed along the vertical axis. Its surface is granular. The color of the theca is light yellow.

Dimensions, µm: theca length 100-102, width 80-86.
Comparison. Our specimens differ from other subspecies of the species D. phosphoritica by the presence of obtuse-angled "shoulders".
Location. Kherson Oblast, Golopristan region, Lower Miocene, Chernobaev elephant [?].
Age and distribution. Lower Miocene, Chernobaevskie elephants of the Black Sea Depression.
