Deflandrea scolensis
From Fensome et al., 2019:
Deflandrea scolensis Grigorovich, 1971, p.92, pl.1, fig.3. Holotype: Grigorovich, 1971, pl.1, fig.3. Age: Eocene.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Original description: [Grigorovich, 1971] (translated from Russian):
Deflandrea scolensis, Grigorovich, sp. nov.
Holotype. IHGG IU AN UkrSSR, specimen 519-IV; Opor River; Lower Eocene, Manyavskaya Formation.
Diagnosis: The theca is elongated along the longitudinal axis, pentagonal.
The epitheca, gradually narrowing from the level of the transverse groove, ends in an apical horn, on the distal side of which there is a small opening. The hypotheca is trapezoidal with strongly concave lateral sides and identical antapical processes. The transverse groove is clearly visible. The longitudinal groove is observed only on the hypotheca. The internal body is spherical. The surface theca - granulated.
Dimensions of the holotype in microns: Length 102, width 9.
Location and material. Outcrop on the Opor River, Skole village; Lower Eocene, Manyavian Horizon; 15 specimens.
