Tanyosphaeridium isocalamus
Tanysphaeridium isocalamus (Deflandre and Cookson, 1955) Davey and Williams, 1969
Originally Hystrichosphaeridium, subsequently (and now) Tanyosphaeridium.
Holotype: Deflandre and Cookson, 1955, pl.2, figs.7–8; Fauconnier and Masure, 2004, pl.78, figs.5–8.
Locus typicus: N. S. W. Onepah Station
Stratum typicum: Early Cretaceous
Original diagnosis: Deflandre and Cookson, 1955, p.272: Hystrichosphaeridium isocalamus
Shell elongate-elliptical, covered by a large number of tubular processes with cleanly truncate apices, tubes of equal length, and elliptical cross section, possibly communicating with the interior. Surface of shell punctulate.
Dimensions: Holotypus (incomplete): overall length 67 µm, breadth 38 µm, shell 42 µm long and 18 µm broad, tubes 10-11 µm long.
