Dinogymnium heterocostatum ssp. kolpaschevii
Dinogymnium heterocostatum ssp. kolpaschevii (Vozzhennikova, 1967) Lentin and Williams, 1973
Originally Gymnodinium heterocostatum var. kolpaschevii, subsequently (and now) Dinogymnium heterocostatum ssp. kolpaschevii.
Holotype: Vozzhennikova, 1967, pl.3, fig.5; Lentin and Vozzhennikova, 1990, pl.3, fig.1, text-fig.4
Locus typicus: Western Siberia (Yuzhno-Kopachevsk area) Russia
Stratum typicum: Senonian
Translation Vozzhennikova, 1967: Lentin and Vozzhennikova, 1990
Original description: Vozzhennikova, 1967, p. 45: Gymnodinium heterocostatum var. kolpaschevii
Epitheca and hypotheca of almost equal size. Epitheca bell-shaped, hypotheca funnel-shaped with an attenuated antapical end. Transverse furrow deep, its margin wavy. Longitudinal furrow slit-like, extending along both epitheca and hypotheca. Ribs of varying length extend from the transverse furrow in the direction of the poles. Theca is light-colored, smooth or fine grained.
Expanded description: Lentin and Vozzhennikova, 1990, p. 17
Cyst shape elongate; epicyst funnel-shaped with pointed apex; hypocyst short, bluntly conical; autophragm finely granulose with well defined longitudinal ridges; ridges extending to the apex and antapex, interuptet only by the paracingulum; archeopyle not observed; paracingulum deep with crenulate margins due to the distinct longitudinal ridges, dividing the cyst into two nearly equal portions; parasulcus not well defined.
Size: Holotype, length 52 Ám, width 27 Ám, width of paracingulum about 4 Ám.
