Dinopterygium reticulatum
From Fensome et al., 2019:
Dinopterygium reticulatum Singh, 1983, p.156, pl.57, figs.8–10. Holotype: Singh, 1983, pl.57, fig.8. Age: early Cenomanian.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Original description: Singh, 1983, p. 156
Proximochorate cysts; body subpentagonal in lateral view and circular in apical-antapical view; paracingulum consisting of two, 6-8 µm high, parallel, transverse, membranous ledges dividing the body into a smaller, dome-shaped epicyst and a larger, angular hypocyst; parasulcus indicated by a 15-20 µm wide interruption in the paracingular ledges; paratabulation not completely discernible, presumably gonyaulacacean; parasutural crests 2-4 µm high and continuing to the outer margin of the paracingular ledges; intratabular areas finely reticulate; lumina 1.5-3 µm wide, archeopyle epicystal, type tAtP; all or some of the opercular paraplates usually remaining in place.
Size range: Diameter of the cyst in apical view 55(60)67 µm. Holotype 65 µm. Length of the paratype in lateral view 57 µm. Breadth of the paratype in lateral view 60 µm. Specimens measured 15.
Affinities:
Singh, 1983, p. 156: Dinopterygium reticulatum differs from other species of the genus Dinopterygium in having a finely reticulate ornamentation in the intratabular areas and in possessing low paracingular ledges and parasutural crests.
