Subtilisphaera hyalina Singh, 1983

Holotype: Singh, 1983, pl.60, fig.3
Locus typicus: Dunvegan Formation of the Peace River area
Stratum typicum: Middle Cenomanian

Original description: Singh, 1983, p. 161
Proximate, peridinioid, circumcavate cysts; pericyst forming a prominent, broad-based, conical, blunt apical horn and two unequal antapical horns; left antapical horn almost as long as the apical horn, conical, and with a blunt tip; right antapical horn short, forming an angular or dome-shaped projection; periphragm
smooth, hyaline, and membranous; endophragm thin walled, smooth; phragma not staining with safranin and remaining transparent; endocyst spherical, separated from the pericyst all around by a moderate-sized pericoel; paracingulum slightly helicoidal, 4 to 6 microns wide, and clearly delineated by parallel, transverse, equatorial ridges and equatorial indentations on the lateral margins; paratabulation, parasulcus, and archeopyle not discernible.
Size range: Length of the pericyst 71 (83)95 µm. Holotype 86 µm. Breadth of the pericyst 44(55)66 µm. Holotype 59 µm. Length of the endocyst 36(47)55 µm. Holotype 46 µm. Breadth of the endocyst 36(45)53 µm. Holotype 43 µm. Specimens measured 40.

Affinities:
Singh, 1983, p. 162: Subtilisphaera hyalina is characterized by very hyaline, smooth phragma, the consistent presence of a short right antapical horn and a distinct paracingulum with equatorial indentations on the lateral margins.
S. hyalina differs from Subtilisphaera pirnaensis (Alberti) Jain and Millepied, 1973, which has only one antapical horn, a granular periphragm, and a short, narrow apical horn. The hypocyst in S. pirnaensis is smaller than the epicyst whereas they are of equal size in S. hyalina.
The specimens assigned to Deflandrea sp. B by Davis (1963, pl. 10, figs. 4, 5) are probably conspecific with S. hyalina.
