Diphyes minor
Diphyes minus Yu Jingxian and Zhang Wangping, 1980; Emendation: Mao Shaozhi and Norris, 1988, p.36, as Coronifera minor.
Now Coronifera. Originally Diphyes, subsequently Coronifera.
Holotype: Yu Jingxian and Zhang Wangping, 1980, pl.4, fig.5
Age: Cenomanian-Santonian
Original description Yu Jingxian and Zhang Wangping, 1980 [translation Suning Hou 2025]:
Diphyes minor sp. nov
Holotype: Slide number W3-7C, Plate IV, Figure 4.
Description: The cyst measures 39.1-43.7 µm in length, with the holotype measuring 39.1 µm, and 43.7-48.3 µm in width, with the holotype width being 43.7 µm. The antapical horn measures 11-13.8 µm in length, with the holotype measuring 11 µm, and 7-9.2 µm in width, with the holotype width being 7 µm. The small processes measure 9.2-13.8 µm in length. The cyst body is nearly round and small, with the periphragm giving rise to numerous small processes, numbering over 50. These processes are long, slender, slightly wider at the base, tapering distally, and slightly swollen at the tip. The cingulum is narrow, and the processes at the cingulum are wider than those posterior to it. The apical horn is smaller than the other processes. The processes are hollow, with their tips either flaring open or remaining closed. The antapical horn is large, hollow, and sometimes splits into finger-like projections at the tip.
Comparison: The new species has a smaller central body, distinguishing it from other species of this genus.
Stratigraphy: Uytak-Kukbay Formation乌依塔克–库克拜组
