Diphyes nudum Cookson 1965

Now Duosphaeridium. Originally Diphves, subsequently Duosphaeridium.

Original description: Cookson, 1965, p.87
Both parts of the shell without appandages. Anterior portion slightly larger than posterior portion, almost sphaerical with large apical archaeopyle. Wall c.2 µm thick, smooth in profile, faintly dotted to finely granular in surface view.
Posterior portion slightly smaller than the anterior portion with convex sides and a slight apical prominence with a small opening; wall c. 1 Ám thick, smooth in profile, faintly dotted or finely granular in surface view the granules when developed being arranged in regular longitudinal rows as in D. colligerum.
Dimensions: Holotype - overall length 55 µm, anterior part 35 µm wide, posterior part 32 µm wide. Range - overall length 47-65 µm, width of anterior part 31-42 µm, width of posterior part 26-36 µm.
