Diplotesta bidigitata Manum and Cookson, 1964

NOW Wallodinium. Originally Diplotesta (generic name illegitimate), subsequently (and now) Wallodinium. Following I.C.N. Article 55.1, the species name Diplotesta bidigitata is validly published even though the generic name Diplotesta is illegitimate.

Shell roughly crescent-shaped in lateral view, apices blunt, usually elongate and more or less curled. Capsule asymmetrically biconvex or concavo-convex, prolonged at each end into a hollow, finger-like process. The walls of both shell and capsule are smooth. The shell opens by a break at one end.
Dimensions: Holotype: 65 Ám long as measured from apex to apex, 32 Ám across; capsule 57 x 31 Ám. Paratype: shell 85 x 34 Ám, capsule 56 x 28 Ám.
