Stover and Evitt, 1978, and Jan du Chêne et al., 1986, retained this taxon in Scriniodinium Klement, 1957, as Scriniodinium galeritum ssp. fornicatum. Lentin and Williams, 1981, 1989, retained it in Endoserinium, as Endoserinium galeritum ssp. fornieatum.
