Endoscrinium klementii
Endoscrinium klementii (Pocock, 1972) Sarjeant, 1978
Now Scriniodinium. Originally (and now) Scriniodinium, subsequently Scriniodinium?, thirdly Endoscrinium, fourthly Scriniocassis. Jan du Chêne et al., 1986, retained this species in Scriniodinium Klement, 1957. Lentin and Williams, 1989, retained it in Endoscrinium. Below, 1990, retained the species in Scriniodinium without question.
This species was retained in Endoscrinium by Riding and Fensome (2003, p.22).
Holotype: Pocock, 1972, pl.23, figs.1-2; Jan du Chêne et al., 1986, pl.108, figs.5-8
Locus typicus: Imperial Tidewater Wapella, Western Canada
Stratum typicum: Callovian
Original description: Pocock, 1972, p.91: Scriniodinium klementii
Vesicle ovoid; wall two-layered; capsule about 0.5 Ám thick; smooth to finely granulose; outer wall envelopes capsule and comprises a reticulum with walls about 0.25 Ám wide and brocci 0.5(2.0)3.5 Ám wide, more or less rounded, supporting a very thin microgranulose membrane; outer wall about 1.0 Ám thick; epitheca more or less hemispherical, terminated by a projection of the outer wall about 8.0 Ám high; hypotheca rounded with an irregular, tending to bilobate, extension of the outer wall, about 5.0 Ám long; at the antapex; transverse girdle and longitudinal furrow visible on most specimens; archeopyle simple precingular with free operculum occupying the position of plate 3"; plating, transverse girdle and longitudinal furrow reflected on surface of vesicle by strongly developed crests about 5.0 Ám high and up to 2.0 Ám wide; crests internally radially striate; tabulation 3", 6", 6""", 1""""; colour yellow; length of vesicle 113.3(120.0)132.0 Ám; width of vesicle 84.7(99.0)105.0 Ám; thickness (compressed) 25.0(27.0)35.0 Ám; length of capsule 90.0(99.0)111.0 Ám; width of capsule 70.0(72.6)87.0 Ám; thickness of capsule (compressed) 16.0(25.0)27.0 Ám.
