Originally Tenua Eisenack, 1958, subsequently (and now) Epelidosphaeridia.

Cyst ambitus broadly elliptical; endophragm rigid, psilate, and ellipsoidal; periphragm granular, drawn up into very many short hollow processes; wall layers loosely appressed, separated beneath group of processes; periphragm processes short, 7-10 Ám long and 1.5-2 Ám broad, distally dosed and square-ended, proximally expanded so that three or four adjacent processes arise from the same small area of wall separation; paracingulum and parasulcus marked by a zone 6-8 Ám broad devoid of processes, cingulum slightly offset at sulcus; processes otherwise non-tabular; archeopyle apical, accessory archeopyle sutures indicate six precingular plates and a sulcal notch indicating gonyaulacean tabulation; operculum free.
