Escharisphaeridia granulata
Escharisphaeridia granulata granulata (Courtinat in Courtinat and Gaillard, 1980, p.13-14, pl.1, figs.4,6; text-fig.2b) Stover and Williams, 1987, p.89.
Holotype: Courtinat and Gaillard, 1980, pl.1, fig.6. Originally Chytroeisphaeridia, subsequently (and now) Escharisphaeridia, thirdly Sentusidinium. Courtinat in Fauconnier and Masure (2004, p.488) retained this species in Escharisphaeridia. Age: Late Oxfordian.
Courtinat, 1989, p.180:
Remark: E. granulata possesses a scabrate autophragm bearing granulae with a variable density. The archaeopyle is apical and the operculum free multiplated. These characteristics correspond with those of the genus Escharisphaeridia and not with the genus Chytroeisphaeridia which has a precingular archaeopyle.
