The apical horn (9(14)19 Ám in length) is conical beginning immediately anterior to the intercalary archeopyle and terminating in an antennule (3-6.5 Ám in length) that is slightly enlarged distally. The rudimentary antapical horns are expressed by broad hypocystal bulges. The left antapical horn is generally more posteriorly displaced while the right antapical horn is often displayed as a conspicuous fold. Thegranulesarecoarse(0.5-1.5 Ám in diameter), irregular in shape and aligned adcingularly. Compression is most often lateral.

Davies, 1983, p.18: Glomodinium zabrum
