Imbatodinium villosum
Imbatodinium villosum Vozzhennikova, 1967
Now Gochteodinia villosa. Originally Imbatodinium villosum, subsequently Pareodinia dasyforma, thirdly (and now) Gochteodinia villosa.
Holotype: Vozzhennikova, 1967, pl.12, fig.3a-b; pl.15, fig.1; Lentin and Vozzhennikova, 1990, pl.11, figs.7-8, text-fig.47
Locus typicus: Moscow, Russia
Stratum typicum: Late Jurassic
Translation Vozzhennikova, 1967: Lees in Sarjeant 1971 (Ed.)
Original description: Vozzhenikova 1967, p. 56
Diagnosis: Theca pyriform, with convex sides. Transverse furrow deep. Longitudinal furrow S-shaped, extending from the base of the apical process to the antapex. Epitheca 2.5 to 3 times as big as the hyptoheca. Epitheca with an apical finger-like process bearing a slender cilium, and covered with short slender hairs (Pl. 12, fig. 1b, 2b, 3a). Hypotheca with unequal antapical processes, one of which
is broadly rounded, the other smaller and more bluntly rounded is sometimes beak-like (Pl. 13, fig. 3b, c, d). Theca covered with slender hairs which bifurcate at the distal end.
Dimensions: length: 70.5-100 µm; breadth: 27-40.5 µm, length of apical process 10.5-13.5 µm.
