Impletosphaeridium cingulatum
Impletosphaeridium cingulatum (Grigorovich, 1971) Stover and Evitt, 1978
Originally Ciliosphaeridium, subsequently (and now) Impletosphaeridium.
Holotype: Grigorovich, 1971, pl.2, fig.1; Fensome et al., 1993, p.1059, fig.1
Locus typicus: Bank of the River Dniester, Spas village; Upper Stryi suite, Ukraine
Stratum typicum: Paleocene
Translation Grigorovich, 1971: Fensome et al., 1993
Original diagnosis: Grigorovich, 1971, p.94: Ciliosphaeridium cingulatum
Ellipsoidal, two layered theca. The outer layer bears cilia-like, distally pointed processes. On the sides of the theca the processes become thicker and hollow. Thick, finely granular inner layer. Broad cingulum divides the theca into equal portions.
Size: Holotype: length 110 µm, width 117 µm, Iength of processes 10-18 µm.
