Florentinia miscella Yun, 1981
Holotype: Yun, 1981, pl.6, fig.7, text-figs.13a-b; Fensome et al., 1991, figs.1,3-4-p.677
Paratype: Yun, 1981, pl.8, fig.15
Locus typicus: Timmermann brickyard near Esbeck, Germany
Stratum typicum: Early Santonian
Translation Yun, 1981: Fensome, 1991, p. 678-679
Original diagnosis: Yun, 1981, p. 50
Chorate cyst with a hollow, distally open, conical antapical process, large polyfurcate, precingular and denticulotubiform, sacciform or polyfurcate postcingular processes. The arrangement of the paratabulation is: 3", 6", 13 c, 5""". The species has a variable number of simple parasulcal spines and a triangular precingular or a combined (3" + apical plates) archeopyle.
Original description: Yun, 1981, p. 50
The oval central body gives rise to three different types of processes: 1. simple, conical, distally closed and truncated processes; 2. wide, flattened, bifurcate to polyfurcate processes; 3. very large sacciform or denticulotubiform processes. In general, tri- or polyfurcate processes occur apically, whereas precingular processes are usually polyfurcate or occasionally bi- to trifurcate. The widest processes, four of which are sacciform, denticulotubiform or polyfurcate occur in the postcingular area. The fifth [postcingular] plate is characterized by a few simple spines.
Simple spines usually ococur in the paracingulum. The antapical spine tapers to its mid point, its diameter then remaining constant to the distal end, which is spiny or denticulate.
