Fromea apiculata
From Fensome et al., 2019:
Fromea apiculata (Cookson and Eisenack, 1960a, p.12, pl.3, fig.15) Stover and Evitt, 1978, p.48. Holotype: Cookson and
Eisenack, 1960a, pl.3, fig.15. Originally Palaeostomocystis (Appendix A), subsequently Fromea?, thirdly (and
now) Fromea. Questionable assignment: Stover and Evitt (1978, p.48) — however, Jansonius (1989, p.65) included
this species in Fromea without question. Age: Santonian–Campanian.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Original description: Cookson and Eisenack, 1960, p.12: Palaeostomocystis apiculata
Shell ellipsoidal, straight or with one side more strongly convex than the other, narrowing toward the slightly sunken aperture. Shell membrane thin, slightly thickened around the aperture, usually with sparsely distributed spinules in the anterior and posterior regions.
Dimensions: Holotype: 62 µm long, 35 µm broad. Range: 38-62x19-35 µm.
