Fromea glabella (Singh, 1971, p.428–429, pl.80, fig.4) Lentin and Williams, 1981, p.106. Holotype: Singh, 1971, pl.80, fig.4. Originally Palaeostomocystis (Appendix A), subsequently (and now) Fromea. Age: late Albian.

Original description (Singh, 1971):

Palaeostomocystis glabella n. sp.
Plate 80, figure 4

Description: Test dorsoventrally flattened, longer than broad, and with an apical archeopyle at one end; width of the archeopyle about 1/2 to 3/4 of the width of the body; body elliptical to almost cylindrical in outline; body wall hyaline and smooth, occasionally with a longitudinal fold.

Size range: Length of the test (7 specimens) 36(43.5)52 microns. Holotype 48 microns.
Breadth of the test (7 specimens) 27(3 1)36 microns. Holotype 36 microns.
Width of the archeopyle (7 specimens) 17(22)26 microns.
Holotype 19 microns.

Distribution: Late Albian. Lower Shaftesbury Formation of the Peace River area.

Remarks: Palaeostomocystis glabella n. sp. can be easily distinguished from Palaeostomocystis fragilis Cookson and Eisenack, 1962, by its smaller size and smooth surface, and from Palaeostomocystis laevigata Drugg, 1967, by the lack of a thickened rim around the archeopyle.
The specific name has been derived from "glabella" (smooth).
Type locality:
Holotype: Pl. 80, fig. 4. Sample No. 2-S-7; lower Shaftesbury Fm. Sec. 2.
Holotype: PI. 80, fig. 4. Slide No. 2-S-7-Micro. 167; co-ord. 12/44.
