Paratype: Islam, 1983
Locus typicus: Hampshire Basin, S England
Stratum typicum: Early Eocene

Original diagnosis: Islam, 1983, p. 339
Cyst dorsoventrally compressed peridinioid, bearing short apical horn with blunt tip, acavate, proximochorate and biphragmal; endophragm chagrinate or microreticulate; periphragm chagrinate; penitabular septa of variable heights not exceeding 5 µm, with variable distal indentations, Iying too close to parasutures to look parasutural in location; paratabulation 4', 3a, 7'', 6c, 5''', 2'''', 1-3s; critically located posterior septa often resembling antapical horns, which are absent; a few forms with divided septa, resembling discrete processes; archeopyle intercalary type 3I/3I with free opercular pieces.
Dimensions: Holotype: cyst body 45 x 40 µm, length of apical horn 6 µm. Range: cyst length 48(38)32 µm, breadth 48(39)31 µm, length of apical horn 8(6)4 µm. Specimens measured: 12.

Affinities:
Islam, 1983, p. 339: This species differs from others of the genus in possessing closely Iying penitabular septa and in the absence of intratabular ornamentation. Its generic allocation remains tentative for the latter.
