Glaphyrocysta assamica
Glaphyrocysta assamica (Jain et al., 1975) Jain, 1982
Originally Cyclonephelium, subsequently Cyclonephelium?, thirdly Glaphyrocysta, fourthly (and now) Glaphyrocysta? Questionable assignment: Michoux and Soncini in Fauconnier and Masure (2004, p.249–250) as a problematic species.
Holotype: Jain et al., 1975, pl.5, fig.61; Fauconnier and Masure, 2004, pl.30, figs.1–2.
Locus typicus: Assam, India; Langpar Formation,
Stratum typicum: Danian
Original diagnosis: Jain et al., 1975, p.11: Cyclonephelium assamicum
Shell flat, more or less spherical, one pole (apical) mostly detached forming apical archaeopyle; surface ornamented with fibrous processes (6-10) along periphery or equator only, processes broad, spongy, proximally narrow, distally open, expanded and branched, interconnected by thin membrane, giving an appearance of thin flange around shell. Shell surface finely granular.
Dimensions: Holotype - Range
Overall shell diameter 160 µm - 130-160µm
Body size 76x52 µm - 75-100x50-80 µm
