Hystrichokolpoma indicum

Hystrichokolpoma indicum Salujha and Kindra, 1981, p.52, pl.3, figs.53-54. Holotype: Salujha and Kindra, 1981, pl.3, figs.53-54. Questionable assignment: Foucher in Fauconnier and Masure (2004, p.286). Junior homonym: Hystrichokolpoma indicum Khanna and Singh, 1981b. Age: Early Paleocene. Jain and Garg, 1982, stated that this species is based on a single, broken, poorly preserved specimen of unknown affinity and that the name should be restIicted to the holotype.

Original description: [Salujha and Kindra, 1981]:

Hystrichokolpoma indica sp. nov.
Pl. 3, figs. 53-54
HOLOTYPE : P1. 3, fig. 53.
DIAGNOSIS AND DESCRIPTION : Light brown, subcircular, size 122-140 x 104-120 μ (including processes) ; processes 14-25 μ long, presumably of two types, broader at the base, narrow in the centre, tips broad, funnel shaped, usually furcating into two or three branches; exine +/- 2 μ thick, faintly reticulate, a few foveola seen at the base of each process.
COMPARISON: Hystrichokolpoma rigaudae (Deflandre and Coukson, 1955 ; Pl. 6, figs. 6, 10) differs in being smaller in size with membrane of the shell smooth to indistinctly granular.
