Oligosphaeridium longicercale
Oligosphaeridium "longicercale" He Chengquan, 1991, p.133, pl.26, fig.8.
Holotype: He Chengquan, 1991, pl.26, fig.8.
Name not validly published: lodgement of holotype not specified (I.C.N. Article 40.7).
Age: Cenomanian.
Description from He Chengquan, 1991, translated by Suning Hou, 07-01-2019
Description: The body is small, oval, length larger than width. Wall thin, layer unclear, surface granular, particles connected local into short wrinkles. With 14 processes, the vast majority are hollow, straight or occasionally curved, the base does not expand or individually slightly larger, distally expanded, the shape of the ends variable, some are pickaxe-shaped, two branches thorn like, distal margins granular or short spines; Some trumpet-shaped, its mouth edge with a few thorns. The width of the processes is relatively stable (2-3.5μm), but the variation of length is large. The antapical process is the longest, about 30μm in length, and the others 12-18μm in length. Individual processes fine, solid, with trifurcate, there are branches on the furcation. Processes intratabular type, one process per plate. Lack of cingulum processes. Tabulation 4', 6 ", 6'’', 1 p, 1"". Thearcheopyle apical, formed by the missing of apex. Operculum free. Body length 40μm, width 32μm.
Comparison: This new species differs from Oligosphaeridium complex (surface smooth, process end thorn), and O. vasiformum (process end sharp thorn) in a quite long antapical process, body surface granular and process end shape.
Location and stratigraphy: Wuqia County Urukqiati; Kukebai fm, mid member.
