Operculodinium kashiense

Operculodinium? kashiense He Chengquan, 1991

He Chengquan, 1991, questionably included this species in Operculodinium.
Holotype: He Chengquan, 1991, pl.21, fig.4
Age: Middle Eocene

Description from He Chengquan, 1991, translated by Suning Hou, 07-01-2019
Description: Oval body, length larger than width. Wall thickness about 2μm, layered unknown; There are a large number of non-septa-shaped processes on the surface, short rod shape, straight or curved, solid, 2-3μm long, the width uniform (about 0.7μm), ends blunt (simple) or slightly enlarged; Processes are about 2.5μm apart from each other. The wall surface between the processes is smooth. Archeopyle is not clear, there is a blur precingular archeopyle near the apex.
The body is about 87μm long, width 70μm.
Discussion: This species is similar in appearance to Baltisphaeridium lingshuicum (He Chengquan, Li Peng, 1981, p. 69, plate 34, Figure 6), but the latter is small, contour circular, processes spiny, dense and pointed distal. Because of the archeopyle can’t be determined, "?" is added after the genus name.
Location and stratigraphy: Wuqia County Basebulak; Wulagen fm.
