Operculodinium minutum
From Fensome et al., 2019:
Operculodinium minutum He Chengquan, 1991, p.145–146, pl.21, figs.6–7; text-figs.30a–b. Holotype: He Chengquan, 1991, pl.21, fig.6; text-fig.30b. Age: Paleocene.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description from He Chengquan, 1991, translated by Suning Hou, 07-01-2019
Description: The cyst is micro, body round-oval. Wall thin, smooth surface; with a large number of processes, 20-30 around the body, thin rod-shaped, width uniform, straight or slightly curved, the ends simple or a few slightly expanded-bifurcated; The length of the processes is 1/4 - 1/3 of the body diameter. Archeopyle outline horseshoe shape, precingular, P-type, formed by the loss of the third precingular plate. Operculum off or fell into the body cavity. Body diameter 17-22 μm, process length 5 μm (measured 2); Holotype body diameter 22 μm, process length about 5 μm.
Comparison: This species differs from other species known in the genus in micro individuals. It is similar to Cleistosphaeridium minor in appearance, but the former has more processes and the archeopyle precingular.
Location and stratigraphy: Wuqia County Basebulak; Qimugen fm.
