Original description: Vozzhenikova 1967, p. 56: Imbatodinium villosum
Diagnosis: Theca pyriform, with convex sides. Transverse furrow deep. Longitudinal furrow S-shaped, extending from the base of the apical process to the antapex. Epitheca 2.5 to 3 times as big as the hyptoheca. Epitheca with an apical finger-like process bearing a slender cilium, and covered with short slender hairs (Pl. 12, fig. 1b, 2b, 3a). Hypotheca with unequal antapical processes, one of which
is broadly rounded, the other smaller and more bluntly rounded is sometimes beak-like (Pl. 13, fig. 3b, c, d). Theca covered with slender hairs which bifurcate at the distal end.
Dimensions: length: 70.5-100 Ám; breadth: 27-40.5 Ám, length of apical process 10.5-13.5 Ám.

Supplemental description: Norris 1978, p. 7: Gochteodinia villosa
Proximo-chorate cysts with a well-developed apical horn and elongated main body, both ornamented with non-tabular acuminate or bluntly terminated processes, which in length are approximately one quarter the main body equatorial diameter. Archeopyle 2I or 3I.

Emended description: Lentin and Vozzhennikova, 1990, p.85
Cyst shape elongate oval with one apical horn, without antapical horns, antapex rounded. Autophragm is ornamented with long slender, acuminate, bifurcate or clubshaped processes which are randomly distributed over the surface of the cyst; processes increase in length towards the antapex. The anterior tip of the apical horn is ornamented with a single, long, solid process. Paratabulation indicated only by location of the archeopyle. Archeopyle 2I, resulting from the loss of two intercalary paraplates, operculum free. Paracingulum and parasulcus not indicated.
Size: Holotype length 108 Ám, width 30 Ám, length of processes 10-14 Ám. Range, length 70.5-108 Ám width 27-41 Ám.
