Halodinum major Bujak, 1984
ACRITARCH

Holotype: Bujak, 1984, pl.4, figs.15-17
Locus typicus: Bering Sea
Stratum typicum: Late Pleistocene

Original diagnosis: Bujak, 1984, p. 196
Discoidal organic-walled microfossils with circular polar outline and irregular membranous flange. Central pylome present with well-defined ridge on, or close to edge of pylome. Lid of pylome often in place. Diameter of body seen in polar view, excluding membrane, greater than 90 Ám.
Dimensions: Body diameter seen in polar view (excluding membrane) 104 to 116 Ám, maximum membrane height 9 to 27 Ám; pylome diameter 24 to 25 Ám.

Original Description: Bujak, 1984, p. 196
The wall of the main body has a granulate or occasionally rugulate surface and a circular outline in polar view. The surrounding membrane extends around the main body and is thin, pale and often broken or torn. The central pylome is circular with a smooth edge that is usually thickened, although the thickening may occur a few micrometers away from the pylome on the main body.
