Gonyaulax cladophora ssp. hemipolyedrica Klement, 1960

Now Rhynchodiniopsis cladophora ssp. hemipolyedrica. Originally Gonyaulax cladophora ssp. hemipolyedrica, subsequently Gonyaulacysta cladophora ssp. hemipolyedrica, thirdly Hystrichogonyaulax cladophora ssp. hemipolyedrica, fourthly (and now) Rhynchodiniopsis cladophora ssp. hemipolyedrica.
Brenner, 1988, stated that Gonyaulax (as Rhynchodiniopsis) cladophora ssp. hemipolyedrica is a jr. synonym of Gonyaulax (as Rhynchodiniopsis) cladophora Deflandre, 1938. Lentin and Williams, 1993, presumed that he intended to imply that the subspecies is a tax. jr. synonym of the autonym Gonyaulax (as Rhynchodiniopsis) cladophora ssp. cladophora — however, Lentin and Williams (1993, p.566) retained Gonyaulax (as Rhynchodiniopsis) cladophora subsp. hemipolyedrica.
